Driver HQ by BuildSprig
Your data in Driver HQ
This policy describes the Driver HQ iPhone and iPad app and its optional customer account and support service. It is separate from the BuildSprig website’s other services.
What stays on your device
Your local profile, vehicle details, preferences, saved stops, cached results and local activity counters are stored on your device. The activity counters record first run, activation, paywall views and purchases; they have no network upload, advertising identifier or location history. There are no advertising trackers in this version.
Location, place search and optional services
With your permission, the app uses your location for nearby results. Apple Maps receives search terms and search coordinates, which may be precise. Opening directions or restaurant source links uses the destination service. The Driver HQ customer account API does not receive your GPS position or place-search history.
Optional U.S. weather is off by default. Enabling it sends coordinates rounded to two decimal places to the U.S. National Weather Service. Regional fuel information uses the U.S. Energy Information Administration; requests include the selected region and a configured API key when available. These services also receive ordinary network information, such as your IP address.
Optional private iCloud sync
Saved-stop sync is off by default. Enabling it uploads saved-stop records, including their coordinates, to your private Apple iCloud database. Turning sync off stops new synchronization and does not erase existing cloud records. Local profiles use separate records. Manage cloud copies through your Apple iCloud controls; contact support if you need assistance. Your online customer account is separate from private iCloud sync.
Optional customer account and support
If you create an online account, our service stores your email, an account identifier, a salted password hash, email-verification status, session and verification/reset records, and the profile details you submit: name, phone, city and vehicle. Support requests store their subject, message, status, replies and timestamps, together with the related support-operation audit records. Do not include payment-card details, passwords or sensitive information in a support message.
We use this information to authenticate you, provide your profile, deliver verification and password-reset codes, respond to support, prevent abuse and provide export and deletion. The service uses DigitalOcean for hosting and scheduled host backups, Cloudflare R2 for encrypted off-server backups, and Resend for transactional email. Public support pages are hosted through Cloudflare. Those providers process the information needed to provide their services. Authorized support operators can access account and support records needed to assist you.
Apple services and purchases
Apple processes subscription payments. We do not receive your payment-card details. The app uses StoreKit transaction information to check your entitlement. If you choose Sign in with Apple for a local profile, Apple provides the identifier and profile fields you authorize. Face ID and Touch ID authentication use the operating system; Driver HQ does not receive biometric templates.
The optional assistant uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models when available. Driver HQ does not send assistant prompts to its customer account server or an external AI provider.
Retention and your controls
Local data remains until you delete it or remove the app, subject to any device or iCloud backups you maintain. In Settings → Privacy & Data, “Delete All My Data” removes local profile, vehicle and saved-stop data. It does not delete an online account, cancel an Apple subscription or erase previously uploaded iCloud records.
In Customer Portal, you can export your online profile and support records and delete your online account after confirming your password. Account deletion removes its active account, session, challenge and support records. Deleted data may remain in scheduled host backups for up to seven days before rotation. Encrypted off-server backups normally rotate on a seven-day schedule; failed backup jobs or a recovery hold may delay that rotation. Email delivery records and correspondence you separately send to support are retained according to the relevant provider and support workflow; contact us about access or deletion of these records.
You can revoke location permission in iOS Settings, disable optional weather and sync in Driver HQ, and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings. Exported files and messages you share are controlled by you and their recipients.
Security and changes
Online account traffic uses HTTPS. Passwords are salted and hashed, session tokens are stored in the device Keychain, and server administration is restricted. No system can guarantee absolute security. We will update this page when the app’s data practices change.
